Schools, Rotary clubs, workplaces and individuals can play a part in helping us educate and care for Malawi’s most vulnerable children. For more information about what your contribution can support, see our programs.
It costs just $30 to provide education, nutrition and medical care to an orphan for a month, so even the smallest amounts can have a huge impact.
Not sure what you could do? Check out these tried-and-tested ideas:
Get sponsored
Need a challenge to become more active? Whether you’re taking on a walk-a-thon, cycle, swim, or running a marathon, ask friends and family to sponsor you for Jacaranda Foundation. Other ideas include a dance-a-thon, tennis tournament, or basketball challenge.
Host a movie night
Inviting your friends to watch a movie may not sound like a money-maker, but if you prepare some treats and ask for donations on entry, you could be surprised how much you’ll raise.
Bagel, donut or bake sales
Everyone loves goodies. Whether coffee and donuts, bagels and shmears, or cupcakes and cookies, people have a hard time saying no to a satisfied belly for a good cause.
Need more fundraising ideas? Here are a few:
Hold a benefit concert or art auction with student or local artists
Organize a car wash
Coordinate a pizza night at your local pizzeria
Challenge another school, office or community group to do an event and see which one makes more money!

JACARANDA FOUNDATION SISTER SCHOOLS
For school fundraising activities, we’ve created the downloadable Jacaranda Foundation Sister School Toolkit. It has background information on our organization, great fundraising ideas, and a checklist for your event.
Being a Jacaranda Foundation Sister School is not only an opportunity for your students to become global citizens, it will give your students, teachers and staff the chance to learn about Malawi and interact with students in Africa.
