"Our network of libraries in public primary and secondary schools in Malawi has a huge impact on the children reading and writing skills. And through these platforms of libraries, our Jacaranda School graduate students volunteer by helping children learn how to read and write - giving remedial classes - and developing a co-curriculum in environment activities, girls empowerment, as well as art, music, chess - which further empowers the children."
Luc Deschamps, Founder of Luc's Libraries and Jacaranda Foundation Executive Director.
Please support John Heilman in donating four libraries in Malawi - serving thousands of school children.
Jacaranda Foundation’s outreach program of Luc’s Libraries is supporting public primary and secondary schools in Malawi where children do not have access to a library and quality reading books. Our goal is to give children a chance to read and study in good conditions. We have developed so far 26 school libraries and community libraries - reaching 57,000 children. Cost of renovating a dilapidated room, fixing the roof, the floors, the walls, the windows, adding electricity, painting and decorating, bringing in tables, chairs, shelves, and thousands of books, comes up to $5,000.00 per library. John’s fundraising target is: $20,000.00 - for four libraries. Thank you for your donation. Let the children read every day!
